A Dedicated Fan From UG2 Delights in Delivering the Ultimate in Hospitality
We know him as our Senior Vice President of Operations, but over the past 30 years, Patriots fans cheering on their team at Gillette Stadium have come to know him as The Pizza Guy from Lot 6.
Year after year, in rain, sleet, hail, and snow, whether his team won four games all season or 14, Mike Gagne has set up an expansive tent and fired up grills and ovens, serving friends and passersby from menus that range from breakfast pizza and pasta with five cheeses to steamed lobster and mini beef wellingtons.
When word of Mike’s tradition caught the attention of Bud Lite & Kraft Sports and Entertainment, they sent a team of their own to follow Mike for a weekend this last fall. Their Tales From The Tailgate video, shown on Boston’s local WBZ Channel 4, features highlights from filming Mike for 10 hours over two days—at home and outside the stadium—as he prepares and serves gourmet offerings that included Bud Light braised short ribs with a wine pairing.
Mike acknowledges in the interview that his effort is a ton of work, but he delights in connecting with the many “happy campers” who are so appreciative of his efforts.
We appreciate him, too. Mike exemplifies UG2’s core values by going above and beyond to deliver excellence. He is what we call a UG2 PhD (passionate, hard-working, and dedicated). His tenacity for getting things just right and his instinctive generosity make him a stand-out leader and host. In fact, many of our coworkers and customers have enjoyed his hospitality over the years in Lot 6—and we all shared in Mike’s delight as his personal and professional lives came together in a thrilling turn of events when Gillette and Patriot Place became our clients in April 2022.
We are incredibly fortunate to have him on our team. And, as we look ahead to Superbowl LX, to Mike and Patriot Nation, we say, Go Pats!
