Expanding Our Community Impact Through Charitable Giving

By George A. Keches

Building on a UG2 Tradition

Amid the end of year bustle and festivities, the holiday season brings opportunities to create memories with our loved ones and with new friends and old, and to find purpose and meaning in the joy of giving.

From UG2’s earliest days as an organization, the core values that guide our work have called on us to be good citizens. Those principles remind us to go above and beyond in all that we do, and to operate from a place of empathy and emotional intelligence.

We are proud to not only uphold these values as an organization, but to nurture a culture that prizes them above any other measure of success. Embodying those values is our commitment to honoring and strengthening the communities where we live and work. Our charitable giving is integral to that promise.

Each December, our annual holiday traditions include a focus on impactful philanthropic gifts over the fleeting pleasure found in parties and presents. This year, we have added a fourth nonprofit to the three organizations we have long supported.

All are transformational organizations whose missions and values complement our own.

Feeding America brings healthy food to hungry children and eliminates food waste by moving surplus produce to food banks across the country.

Boston Children’s Hospital is one of the world’s leading pediatric health care centers. Located in Massachusetts, where UG2 got its start, the hospital is advancing care for children around the globe.

The American Cancer Society helps patients and families through advocacy, research, and patient support.

The MGH Educational fund, our newest recipient, supports the teaching of compassion, connection and caring to cardiologists early in their careers.

While they have markedly different missions, what these remarkable organizations share is that their work is both far-reaching and deeply personal to all of us at UG2. They embody the values that we cherish in our communities, admire in our customers, and strive for in our everyday lives.

We are grateful to be able to support their efforts. As part of the UG2 family, you have helped make our charitable giving possible. Thank you for allowing us to help advance their work.
